Location - Phuket Panwa
Situation on the hillside right on the white sand beach of Panwa Bay on the Phuket's west coast. Only 20 minutes drive to Phuket Downtown and 45 minutes drive to Phuket International Airport.
Besides Phuket Town, the interior of Phuket is pretty much unvisited by foreign visitors. This fertile hilly expanse consists of mangrove forests, fishing villages, rubber and pineapple plantations, small Muslim communities and shrimp farms. The Phra Taew National Park is a nice escape from the tourist crowds, as is the Gibbon Project.
Panwa is some 10 kilometres from Phuket Town. The southernmost tip of this cape is home to a Marine Biological Research Centre and Phuket's Aquarium where visitors may inspect several hundred exotic, grotesque, and flamboyantly colourful marine species found in the waters of Phuket and elsewhere. There are always local taxis standing around ready to take you anywhere on Phuket.
